In November 2011 a court awarded £397,000 to a golfer who lost an eye after being struck by a golf ball. The judge said that the golfer who caused the injury was overconfident and should have been aware of the risk.  The Golf Club was fined £120,000 for lack of safety signs. This case is a reminder that golf is a dangerous and potentially very expensive game.
